God-Tier Get Rich System – CH14

The Reserved Man

Chapter 14: The Reserved Man

Back home, Mu Lantu took a lightning-fast shower and changed into some comfortable loungewear.

Thanks to his speed, breakfast was still hot.

He had bought it from Song Ji Breakfast Shop, recommended by Xu Huazhang. It was conveniently located just outside his neighborhood. The buns stuffed with vermicelli and cabbage, and the century egg and lean pork congee were indeed delicious. However, for Mu Lantu—who lived by the motto no meat, no joy—the veggie buns still fell a bit short. Good for the occasional change, though.

After finishing breakfast, he washed a big, bright red apple and half-reclined on the sofa to read Architectural Drawing and Blueprint Interpretation.

It was his first time reading such a highly technical book, but to his surprise, Mu Lantu didn’t find it hard to understand at all. He vaguely realized that with each world he transmigrated into, his ability to learn—or perhaps his comprehension—was gradually improving, almost imperceptibly.

That was definitely a good thing.

The Wechat notification chime rang again.

[Xu Huazhang]: Mind sharing your full address? Or just your delivery address. I want to send you a gift.

Mu Lantu sent over his full apartment number without hesitation. He was a grown man—nothing to be afraid of.

He was so focused on reading that he didn’t know how much time had passed before the doorbell rang.

Before opening the door, Mu Lantu peeked through the peephole. A tall, burly man—dressed similarly to Xu Huazhang’s bodyguards—stood outside, holding a slender, elegant gift box tied with a brown ribbon.

“Hello, are you Mr. Mu Lantu?”

“Yes.”

“Apologies for the interruption. Mr. Xu Huazhang asked me to deliver this to you.”

Ding-dong.

Mu Lantu opened Wechat.

[Xu Huazhang]: Has the gift arrived? Don’t worry, it’s safe to sign for it. (photo)

The person and the gift box in the photo were exactly what he saw in real life.

The level of detail Xu Huazhang put into this was quite impressive—and left a good impression. Mu Lantu took the box with both hands. It was long and needed to be carried vertically to fit through the door.

“Thanks.”

“No problem.”

The man nodded and left in long strides.

Mu Lantu closed the door, sent a message back to Xu Huazhang, then opened the box out of curiosity. Inside was a scroll.

As he slowly unfurled it, his eyes suddenly widened.

It was an enlarged photo. The background was a plain white wall, and the person in the photo was Xu Huazhang himself—life-sized—wearing the same outfit from Wechat: a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the forearms, a subtly luxurious watch visible on his wrist, a black tie casually draped around his neck. The right side of his shirt was tucked into sleek suit pants, while the left hung loose. He held his suit jacket loosely in his left hand, and his gaze was gentle—as if looking at someone or something he adored—stepping toward the camera as if about to walk right out of the photo and into Mu Lantu’s living room.

It was obvious the pose had been carefully designed, likely by a professional.

Mu Lantu chuckled, imagining how Xu Huazhang must have regretted and felt dissatisfied after sending him that casual photo on Wechat—then immediately hired someone to take a better one, had it enlarged and printed, and rushed it over.

The scroll even had hanging hardware. All it would take was a nail in the wall to display it. But after appreciating it enough, Mu Lantu rolled it back up, slipped it into its protective sleeve, and stored it in the bedroom. Then he returned to the living room and continued reading.

Two days later, his LEGO set arrived.

Mu Lantu registered a new account on Tiktok Live. His username was randomly chosen—“Spicy Strips Aren’t Spicy”—because there happened to be a pack of spicy strips next to him. His stream title was straightforward: “Building LEGO.”

He had bought the streaming setup specifically to livestream his LEGO builds.

To him, building LEGO was a tedious and time-consuming activity. Rather than work a 9-to-5 and build LEGO after hours, he figured he might as well become a streamer—earn money and build LEGO at the same time. If he got popular, he’d have a legitimate source of income out in the open.

In the past two days, he had also bought a movable blackboard. It was placed beside his desk, out of the camera’s view. He pinned his blueprint to the board using magnets.

Once everything was ready, he turned on some relaxing instrumental music, sat down at his desk, and started the livestream, building according to his design. The camera focused mainly on the workspace, but he didn’t go out of his way to hide his face—everything was natural and unforced.

005 volunteered to be the mod. With it around, no troll could survive in the chat for more than two seconds.

A viewer came in, stayed for less than two seconds, and left. Another entered, then left five seconds later. Two joined together—one soon left…

005 didn’t mind. Its job was simply to maintain order.

Meanwhile, Mu Lantu was completely absorbed in his LEGO project, unaware of everything else. Until today, his impression of LEGO had been narrow—just a repetitive, boring game. But building according to his own blueprint gave it a new meaning. It was not just a process of assembling—it was creation. Watching the LEGO transform from a design to a real structure gave him a deep sense of accomplishment.

Mu Lantu had always been someone who could focus, or he wouldn’t have mastered such beautiful calligraphy. At first, he had wondered: Will anyone actually watch this? How many viewers will I get? But soon he completely forgot about them. His elegant fingers picked out different colored and shaped bricks, snapping them together one by one. Occasionally, he paused only to drink water.

Gradually, the number of viewers rose from single digits to double digits, then to triple digits—eventually stabilizing at around 300. For a new streamer, it was a solid start.

The chat also started picking up. Not a flood of messages, but high-quality ones:

“When I first came in, I just wanted to take a peek. Now I just want to keep watching.”

“Same here. I only clicked out of curiosity… but I got sucked in.”

“I was actually in a terrible mood today, but the way the streamer focuses is so soothing. After watching for a bit, I feel calmer.”

“It’s kind of magical. It should be boring, but I’m totally into it.”

“Very therapeutic.”

“Humble Corporate Drone” sent a rocket gift. De-stress +1. Got pushed around at work all day. Was planning to quit tomorrow. But now I’ve calmed down.

The other viewers followed suit with a wave of tips—mostly small or free gifts. The total wasn’t huge, but it added up to a decent meal’s worth.
