Chapter 34: Reunion with Little Friends (1)
Having obtained the gasoline, Lu Weiyi didn’t go to the remaining places. He drove around for a bit and decided to go to the east of the city that Gu Qingyue had mentioned to find some gas cylinders there.
The further east he went, the older the houses became, and the more severe the collapse. The place Gu Qingyue had pointed out was still on the outskirts, but even so, Lu Weiyi had to make a big detour. The narrow alleys were half blocked, and the car couldn’t get through. Lu Weiyi parked the car on the side of the road where it wouldn’t be in the way and got out.
Several wandering zombies nearby had already followed the sound of the car. Now that the door opened, they roared and rushed up, wanting to be the first to get a warm meal. Lu Weiyi kicked one over and stepped out of the car. The watermelon knife in his hand flipped quickly as if it were an extension of his arm, and in a few seconds, they were all lying on the ground.
While diverting a trace of consciousness to direct the little green branch on his wrist to search for bead cores, Lu Weiyi walked steadily towards his destination, leaving a trail of crooked zombie corpses behind him, all with half their skulls missing.
“Damn, that guy’s fierce!” On the second floor of a shop not far away, a group of tough-looking men with crew cuts were gathered, eating instant noodles. There was no hot water, so the taste of instant noodles soaked in mineral water wasn’t great, but they were still eating with relish.
The man standing by the window was only wearing a black vest, his arms covered in tattoos, looking like a thug, although his chicken-like physique made him less intimidating. He slurped up some noodles, staring at Lu Weiyi’s figure downstairs, and called back, “Boss, you gotta see this kid, his skills are even better than yours!”
“What nonsense are you talking about?” A man not far from him came over and slapped him on the head. “Boss can make a wall with earth with just one hand, how could anyone be stronger than Boss?” He glanced downstairs, surprised for a moment, and called to the others, “This kid really has some moves, you guys quickly call Big Brother to come take a look.”
Several men gathered and simultaneously called towards the bedroom, “Big Brother, hurry up and look, hurry up and look!”
“Coming,” the door of the connecting bedroom opened, and a tall, bald man in slippers, with a cigarette in his mouth, walked out. A long scar across half of his face made him look like a ferocious demon. He slowly took two steps, and just as he reached the doorway, he suddenly turned his head back, as if he had seen something interesting. He forced a smile, which, combined with his pitch-black eyes, made him even more terrifying.
Following his gaze, the dark room had its windows blocked by an earthen wall. On the ground beside it was Dean, whom Lu Weiyi had been searching for supplies with just a few days ago. The difference was that he no longer looked like the little prince he had been. His blond hair was a messy tangle, his face was clearly bruised, with handprints and dark bloodstains all over it. His clothes were wrinkled and covered in dirt, and his swollen red eyes were filled with tears, full of fear and vigilance. He was clutching the unconscious Antonio beside him tightly, his slender white fingers so tense that the veins stood out.
