Chapter 7
After the initial shock, Bai Nuosi quickly calmed down.
This was a nursery for young cubs, and all the protective measures and facilities here were comprehensive. It was impossible for something like a snake—which could threaten the safety of the cubs—to be present.
After taking a few steps back, Bai Nuosi regained his composure, his gaze fixed on the black snake that was about as thick as his forearm.
No matter what, even if this was a wild venomous snake, he couldn’t turn and run away. After all, the little black panther cub was still sleeping in the room next door, and to facilitate caring for the cub, the door connecting the two rooms was wide open.
When Bai Nuosi had just finished washing up, he happened to have taken off his smart wristband. In these brief seconds, he hadn’t decided what to do yet.
However, the black snake on the windowsill seemed to realize it had scared Bai Nuosi. Feeling a bit guilty, its two small golden eyes darted around. Then, it slowly lowered its proudly raised head and sluggishly retreated outside the window.
Bai Nuosi: “……”
This black snake seemed quite intelligent.
Thinking the snake had left, Bai Nuosi cautiously stepped forward to close the window. But then he noticed the tip of the snake’s tail still hooked on the window ledge, as if preventing him from shutting it.
Bai Nuosi: “……”
He stood dazed for two seconds when suddenly a light appeared outside the window. Focusing his eyes, he saw the black snake returning, holding a small golden tag in its mouth.
Bai Nuosi was astonished. He recognized this golden tag; the little black panther cub had one around its neck!
He was extremely shocked, looking at the snake holding the tag in its mouth. He asked, “Are you also a beastman cub from here?”
Not only was Bai Nuosi shocked, but he was also a bit bewildered. It was one thing that the beastman cubs were different from what he had imagined, but there were even snake beastmen!
He was most afraid of snakes!
Gazing at the black snake lying on the windowsill with the tag in its mouth, Bai Nuosi hesitated for a few seconds.
Every cub is different, and they can’t choose their birth. As a teacher, he shouldn’t hold any prejudice against a snake cub!
In any case, thankfully, the other party was a beastman cub, essentially human, not just a snake. Thinking of the snake as a cub, he felt he could accept it.
Besides, the caregivers here had one-on-one relationships with the cubs. Since he already had the little black panther cub, this snake baby wouldn’t need his care!
In that short time, Bai Nuosi thought a lot. It was already midnight, and a snake cub was still wandering outside—that wouldn’t do!
He really couldn’t just ignore it. Summoning his courage, he walked forward and gently spoke to the little black snake, “Sweetheart~~ It’s so late; why are you all alone… slithering outside by yourself? It’s so dark out there. Where’s your caregiver?”
The little black snake stared at Bai Nuosi, its golden eyes blinking a few times. Then it tilted its head, placed the golden tag from its mouth onto the windowsill, and swiftly slithered in through the window.
Bai Nuosi: “……”
Although he couldn’t just leave it alone, he really hadn’t planned on inviting the snake baby inside…
Facing a snake at night, he probably wouldn’t be able to sleep—even if it were a tiger!
Feeling helpless, Bai Nuosi picked up the small golden tag. The tag had an “S” engraved on it but no name.
It was slightly different from the one the little black panther cub had.
Frowning, Bai Nuosi held the tag and glanced at the little black snake, which had naturally curled up on the sofa.
The little black snake had already patrolled the entire Rose Nursery and was feeling sleepy. It wanted to sleep.
But its owner didn’t seem to want it to return yet.
The little black snake raised its head again, staring at Bai Nuosi.
Perhaps influenced by its human main body’s thoughts, the little black snake also found the black-haired, black-eyed young man before it very cute and beautiful, appearing soft and cuddly—a perfect candidate for a snuggle.
Used to being carefree and with no owner around to control it, after staring at Bai Nuosi for a while, the little black snake immediately slid down from the sofa and started climbing up Bai Nuosi’s leg.
Caught off guard, Bai Nuosi didn’t react in time. He instantly froze, not daring to move, his heart racing with nervousness. “W-What are you doing? Don’t come up here!”
But the little black snake paid him no mind. Teacher Xiao Bai’s scent was fragrant and pleasant; his voice was soft and gentle, very soothing. The little black snake really liked him. Imitating the behavior of the little black panther cub, it kept burrowing into Teacher Xiao Bai’s arms, even wrapping its tail around Bai Nuosi’s slender waist, happily rubbing against him.
Bai Nuosi was so nervous he didn’t dare to move.
Although, as a teacher, he should treat every baby equally and lovingly.
But he wasn’t mentally prepared yet and couldn’t remain calm while holding a little black snake.
Meanwhile, in the director’s office of the Rose Nursery, Huo Ranchuan was so embarrassed that his ears turned red. He stood by the bed, pounding his head with his fist. “This shameful thing.”
He sensed that the black snake had gone to see Bai Nuosi but didn’t intervene. After all, there was a newly differentiated S-level cub with Bai Nuosi, which indeed needed special attention. So, with his spiritual entity watching over there, he felt reassured.
As a result, this useless creature not only took out his only level badge to please Bai Nuosi but also entered his room uninvited, and even climbed onto him…
Huo Ranchuan: “……”
Covering his forehead, Huo Ranchuan fiercely scolded his spiritual entity in his mind, telling it to hurry back or he’d give it a beating.
The little black panther was a spiritual entity cub, but the Teng Snake was not. Approaching Teacher Xiao Bai while pretending to be a cub—if discovered, where would he put his face?
However, five minutes passed, then ten minutes, and his spiritual entity was happily nestled in Teacher Xiao Bai’s warm embrace. Even the tip of its tail wrapped around Bai Nuosi’s waist was swaying comfortably, as if it had suddenly lost connection with his consciousness, completely ignoring Huo Ranchuan.
Huo Ranchuan: “……”
Of course, the little black snake wouldn’t return. Its owner’s heart desired this; why should it leave?
A spiritual entity’s thinking is simple and different from humans. As the spiritual embodiment of a human, they are one with their human main body, and their actions fully reflect the inner thoughts of their human.
For someone like Huo Ranchuan, whose words contradicted his feelings, such tactics wouldn’t work.
Huo Ranchuan was extremely embarrassed.
What should he do now? Maybe he should synchronize with his spiritual entity and bring that shameful thing back to himself.
Just as Huo Ranchuan was pacing back and forth irritably in his room, Mons’s video call suddenly came in.
“Commander!”
Huo Ranchuan’s face was cold, but if Mons looked carefully, he would notice Huo Ranchuan’s reddened ears and guilty eyes.
After all, he could sense that Teacher Xiao Bai’s gentle hands were softly stroking his spiritual entity’s back.
As the main body, with a high spiritual power level and over ten years of merging with his spiritual entity, even without synchronization, the spiritual entity was like his second self.
What happened to the spiritual entity was almost as if it were happening to him.
At this moment, he could clearly feel a pair of gentle hands stroking his back, the sensation very vivid. He sat in his chair, slightly lowering his head, afraid that Mons would notice his embarrassed expression.
Name: Bai Nuosi
Occupation: Gagging all traumatised men in his general vicinity
