Becoming a Kindergarten Teacher for S-Class Spirit Beasts – CH51

Chapter 51

Huo Ranchuan, staring at the feather in the golden eagle’s beak, was utterly speechless.

He had known Chen Min for over a decade and had never realized that, despite his outward seriousness, he harbored such a deep and repressed side.

Bai Nuosi looked at the feather, noticing how long and beautifully golden it was. However, he hesitated to take something from someone so casually, especially since his hands were full, holding the panda cub.

Huo Ranchuan quickly stepped in, blocking Bai Nuosi from accepting the feather.

It’s the middle of the night. I can’t explain to him that the eagle will throw a tantrum if he leaves, can I?

After thinking for a moment, Huo Ranchuan said, “The golden eagle really liked the buns you made earlier and is clamoring for more.”

Bai Nuosi responded immediately, “I’ll go make some right now—it’ll be quick!”

When Bai Nuosi had prepared the filling earlier, he had considered that in the future, when there were more babies or if he became too busy to cook meals, he could make some buns in advance to serve with milk as breakfast or snacks for the babies.

Since this beastman liked the buns too, it wouldn’t be hard to knead some dough. Once the buns were steaming, he could set a timer and go put the panda cub and the snake baby to bed.

As Bai Nuosi calculated the timing and was about to head to the kitchen, Huo Ranchuan quickly stopped him. There was no way he was going to let Teacher Bai bake buns for that crazy bird in the middle of the night. Besides, the eagle clearly had ulterior motives. After meeting Bai Nuosi just twice, it had already offered him a feather! If he baked buns for it late at night, the eagle might just demand that Teacher Bai lay eggs for it next!

The mere thought left Huo Ranchuan speechless. “There’s no need for all that trouble, Teacher Bai. I’ll grab something for it to snack on. You can make more tomorrow.”

While saying this, he gently pushed Bai Nuosi out the door.

The golden eagle: “!!!”

The golden eagle watched helplessly as its “little cutie” was taken away by Huo Ranchuan again. It screeched in frustration, hopping around inside its cage, preparing to throw another tantrum.

However, its keen hearing picked up Bai Nuosi’s voice outside the room, and its claws, ready to pound the ground, slowly retracted.

It couldn’t act too aggressive in front of the “little cutie.”

Listening to their conversation, it realized that the little cutie wasn’t leaving just yet.

The golden eagle tucked the feather back into its chest, knowing that chasing a mate was a long process. It couldn’t be impatient—after all, as the saying goes, “haste makes waste.”

The bandages wrapped around the eagle were already ragged and filthy. What was once pristine white had turned a dull gray, and the eagle felt that the bandages were hideous, failing to showcase even a fraction of its beauty.

Its wounds were healing, so it decided to tear off all the bandages. The next time the little cutie came over, it would see the eagle’s majestic physique and its dazzling golden feathers!

Once the little cutie saw it, they’d surely fall in love!

The golden eagle was incredibly confident in its appearance.

Meanwhile, Bai Nuosi had no idea what the golden eagle was thinking. He was still focused on making the buns, but Huo Ranchuan wouldn’t allow him to.

Huo Ranchuan had noticed that when Bai Nuosi was around, the golden eagle did indeed calm down. It seemed as though it was consciously restraining its violent impulses, perhaps out of fear of scaring Bai Nuosi.

This meant that, in front of Teacher Bai, the eagle’s human side—small as it was—seemed to be awakening.

Huo Ran Chuan thought that if this was truly the case, maybe there was still a chance to rehabilitate the golden eagle.

After a brief hesitation, Huo Ranchuan asked, “Teacher Bai, I have a request. Of course, if you’re uncomfortable with it, feel free to refuse.”

Bai Nuosi, still concerned about Huo Ranchuan’s bleeding back, responded, “Director, please tell me.”

“I need to go to the hospital to treat my back, and because of the recent attack, we’ve had to strengthen the security training at the Rose Nursery. That leaves me with little time to stay at home. Would you be willing to temporarily move into the room next to mine? You could help cook for the snake baby and the golden eagle during that time.”

The real focus was the golden eagle. Huo Ranchuan wanted to see if the bird would continue behaving if Bai Nuosi lived next door and whether the bird could maintain its human side if Bai Nuosi cooked for it regularly.

Of course, his excuse about not having time was just a cover—there was no way he’d let Bai Nuosi be alone with the golden eagle. The Teng Snake would have to stay by Bai Nuosi’s side at all times.

If it didn’t help much, once the Teng Snake healed in a few days, he would send Bai Nuosi back to the dormitory in the western district.

Bai Nuosi, seeing the extent of Huo Ranchuan’s injuries, had already felt that Director Huo needed to see a doctor.

Not to mention the snake baby, which was still sound asleep on the sofa, despite all the earlier commotion.

Bai Nuosi agreed.

No matter what, he would stay next door for a few days. Once Director Huo’s injuries improved, he would take the snake baby and leave.

Huo Ranchuan’s floor had four rooms in total, each with two bedrooms and a living room. Bai Nuosi moved into the unit next to Huo Ranchuan that very night.

He always carried the babies’ essentials with him, and the apartment was already fully furnished with everything needed for daily living. Since it was a dormitory, he could move in right away.

Anything else could wait until the next day to bring over.

Huo Ranchuan stood at the doorway without entering. After Bai Nuosi glanced around the room, Huo asked, “If you need anything, feel free to contact me.”

He paused for a moment and added, “Or, you can just come over and get it.”

His living supplies and some food items had all been arranged by his adjutant, as he rarely returned home, so things generally remained untouched for long periods.

Bai Nuosi nodded and was about to ask if he could bring the snake baby to sleep with him when Huo Ran Chuan stepped out, bidding him farewell: “I’ll leave now. Get some rest.”

Bai Nuosi followed him to the door, saying, “You should rest too, Director, and make sure to take care of that back injury…”

The severity of Huo Ranchuan’s wound troubled Bai Nuosi—Director Huo seemed entirely unconcerned about it, which tugged at his heart.

Huo Ranchuan nodded, staring at Bai Nuosi. “Thank you.”

Bai Nuosi, feeling a bit awkward, shook his head. “No need to thank me.”

After Huo Ran Chuan left, Bai Nuosi carried the panda cub back to the bedroom. It was a new and unfamiliar room, but since it was a dormitory, its layout was similar to his dorm in the western district, so he quickly adapted. However, there was no nursery here, so he would have to sleep in the master bedroom with the panda cub.

Bai Nuosi’s room shared a wall with Huo Ran Chuan’s bedroom next door. While Bai Nuosi was settling down with the panda cub, Huo Ranchuan was tending to the Teng snake’s wounds.

The Teng snake’s injuries needed daily care, and Huo Ranchuan personally applied the medicine and bandages. Although the Teng snake’s personality was fierce and difficult, it had grown used to his’s care. Despite its rough lifestyle, he always showed concern whenever it was injured, personally attending to its bandages.

Of course, The Teng snake’s injuries were reflected in Huo Ran Chuan’s own body, and his wounds also affected the Teng snake. The two were like brothers in misery, both suffering from injuries and sharing the pain.

Once the Teng snake’s bandages were in place, it immediately distanced itself from him, climbing onto a cabinet near the wall and pressing itself tightly against it, even putting its head against the wall like someone trying to eavesdrop.

However, the dorms of these high-ranking officers had excellent security and soundproofing systems—S-class abilities couldn’t penetrate them!

Huo Ranchuan glanced at the Teng snake in disbelief, then removed his shirt, revealing his back and arms covered in scars.

While Tengshe had its main body to help with applying medicine, Huo Ranchuan could only rely on an AI housekeeper to assist with his bandages.

At this moment, Huo Ranchuan couldn’t help but think of the gentle Teacher Bai.

Almost thirty years old… Maybe it’s time to find a partner.

Meanwhile, in the next room, the golden eagle, using its sharp senses, quickly located the direction of Bai Nuosi. It heard! The little cutie is talking on the other side of the wall!

Carefully using its wings, which were poking out from its bandages, the golden eagle lifted its iron cage and tiptoed to the corner of the wall.

As an S-class creature with heightened senses, it could vaguely hear Bai Nuosi’s soft voice, though the sound was so faint that it seemed almost like an illusion.

Damn this wall! If I kick it down, will I be able to see the little cutie?

The golden eagle glared darkly at the wall for a while but eventually calmed down. It couldn’t break through the wall—what if it frightened the little cutie next door?

The eagle pressed its cage tightly against the wall, trying to get as close as possible, straining to hear who the little cutie was talking to and what was being said.

Bai Nuosi, meanwhile, was telling a story to the panda cub.

It was already past the cub’s bedtime, but it still refused to sleep. Yawning, the panda clung to Teacher Bai, asking for a story: “Qiu Qiu wants a story!”

Bai Nuosi gently said, “It’s late, Qiu Qiu. Don’t you want to sleep?”

The panda cub rubbed its eyes and shook its head. “Qiu Qiu wants a story!”

So Bai Nuosi took out a picture book from his storage—the one he had planned to read to the panda earlier. “This is a story about a little chick named Ruby. The book is called Did You Give It Your All?”

He opened to the first page and glanced down at the panda cub.

Though the cub was trying to stay awake, it looked weary, just like the little black panther had a while back. Bai Nuosi had noticed this lack of energy earlier in the afternoon.

Back then, the black panther had fainted and was taken to the hospital, and eventually, its family came to take it away.

Now, the panda cub was also showing signs of low energy, so Bai Nuosi knew he had to keep a close eye on it.

However, since it was already past the cub’s usual bedtime, its tiredness was likely just normal drowsiness.

Bai Nuosi decided to observe the cub through the night and reevaluate in the morning.

Speaking softly, Bai Nuosi began the story: “On a very beautiful farm, there was an adorable little chick named Ruby.”

His voice was gentle and soothing. “Ruby was a very brave boy. Whenever he wanted to do something, he made sure to do it. But Ruby’s father was always worried and wanted to teach him many important lessons.”

  2. M&M's says:

I didn’t think Bai Nuosi would actually move into Huo Ranchuan’s home (even if temporarily)! This will really aid in developing their romantic relationship, which I would really like to see soon.

On a side note, how exactly does the golden eagle lift its cage to tiptoe over to the wall when it’s trapped in the cage? Does the cage not have a bottom/floor, lol?

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀

  3. Bread4ever says:
