Chapter 115 (Extra)
Huo Ranchuan’s seemingly endless energy was becoming more obvious with the recent peace across the empire. Even though the second Rose Nursery was under construction, he had handed off all work to Han Baiyi just so he could spend more time with Bai Nuosi.
Yes, Huo Ranchuan had recently promoted Han Baiyi to be the captain of the security team for the second Rose Nursery.
Now, Huo Ranchuan stuck close to Bai Nuosi every day, clearly attached to his partner.
As an adult beastman, he entered a nesting phase every month, and as a snake-type beastman, his needs in that area were even higher.
While he’d been able to satisfy himself by temporarily marking Bai Nuosi each month, Huo Ranchuan found himself growing less and less content with just that.
On Bai Nuosi’s birthday, Huo Ranchuan brought him to meet his family at the Huo estate.
Huo’s grandparents were still alive, along with various aunts, uncles, and their children. By the time Bai Nuosi arrived, it felt like the entire extended family had shown up.
After all, Bai Nuosi was Huo Ranchuan’s partner, and everyone treated the occasion with great importance.
Most people were already familiar with Bai Nuosi due to his popularity as “Teacher Bai” online.
By now, Huo and Bai Nuosi had been dating for seven or eight months. Though they hadn’t yet reached the one-year mark, their relationship was solid. Originally, Bai Nuosi had only planned to give things a try, fearing he might regret letting Huo Ranchuan go if he didn’t. But over time, he’d grown to appreciate Huo Ranchuan’s attentiveness, kindness, and reliability. Although Huo Ranchuan’s energy level was sometimes overwhelming, he was otherwise a perfect partner.
Moreover, the Teng Snake had always been obedient and never caused trouble for Bai Nuosi, which made him feel more at ease about meeting Huo Ranchuan’s family.
However, after they left the Huo estate, Bai Nuosi was completely worn out. “Your family is huge!”
Honestly, he couldn’t remember anyone besides Huo Ranchuan’s parents.
Many aunts and uncles had sought him out to ask for favors for their children or to inquire about when he and Huo Ranchuan planned to have kids and how many. Bai Nuosi was left feeling awkward and drained.
Finally free of the gathering, Bai Nuosi thought he might collapse. Frowning, he asked, “Can I skip these things in the future?”
He really wasn’t good at dealing with situations like this.
Huo Ranchuan hadn’t been thrilled with his family’s behavior either, but he’d wanted Bai Nuosi’s first visit to be respectful and formal. He hadn’t expected them to turn his gentle Bai Nuosi into a bundle of cotton candy.
With a chuckle, he pulled Bai Nuosi into a hug, kissing him on the cheek. “Sorry about that. From now on, we’ll try not to attend those gatherings, and if we do, we’ll just meet my immediate family.”
Bai Nuosi sighed worriedly. “They kept calling you the Huo family heir. As your partner, was I supposed to do better?”
When he had first started dating Huo Ranchuan, he hadn’t thought too deeply about it. Huo Ranchuan had always treated him so well, accommodating his needs, and never showing a hint of being from a prestigious family. It wasn’t until today, meeting all these people and hearing so much about the family, that Bai Nuosi realized how big the Huo Ranchuan legacy was.
“Am I embarrassing you? I’m terrible at handling relationships, and all those complex social dynamics just confuse me…”
Seeing Bai Nuosi’s worry, Huo Ranchuan’s eyes darkened, not at Bai Nuosi, but at his relatives who had filled Bai Nuosi’s head with these doubts.
Huo Ranchuan pulled Bai Nuosi closer and stroked his hair. “Teacher Bai is the best teacher in the galaxy. You just focus on the little ones at the nursery and do what you love most. I’ll handle the rest.”
Dealing with a powerful family’s affairs was no small task, and Huo Ranchuan was well aware that Bai Nuosi was too trusting. He wasn’t about to let him into that complex world.
Bai Nuosi’s only concern should be the adorable little ones he cared for so well.
“And since it’s your birthday today, I want to take you somewhere special.”
Finally, Bai Nuosi relaxed, smiling. “Where are we going?”
Huo Ranchuan used his smart assistant to set a location—a small island to the south of the empire. “I originally thought of taking you to a different planet for a holiday. But I figured we could save that for when we’re married. For now, let’s go to the beach for some diving.”
Bai Nuosi mumbled, “Who said anything about marrying you?”
Without meaning to, his mind drifted back to the thought of Huo Ranchuan’s “equipped” thermos bottle. Marriage? That sounded dangerous!
Huo Ranchuan hugged him tighter and whispered, “After all this time adjusting, baby, how much longer are you going to make me wait?”
It had almost been a year, and every day Huo Ranchuan held Teacher Bai close, only able to look but not indulge. It was seriously hard on him!
He tried again, “It’s also the perfect time for your heat period. Let’s give it a shot?”
Bai Nuosi was speechless. He wasn’t actually against being close to Huo Ranchuan, but… he was terrified!
Given how impressive ‘that’ was, who wouldn’t be?
After much inner turmoil, it was only after they arrived at their island hotel that Huo Ranchuan took him diving that he blurted out, “Wait, are we going to try it in the water?”
Huo Ranchuan, with his snake genetics, was an expert swimmer—but Bai Nuosi wasn’t!
Huo Ranchuan chuckled, sitting shirtless with his diving goggles on. “If you’re up for it, I wouldn’t mind at all.”
…
By then, the Teng Snake had emerged in his full, imposing form, splashing around in the vast ocean.
As Huo Ranchuan held Bai Nuosi on a lounge chair, watching the Teng Snake play, he commented, “Teng Snake seems thrilled we’re here.”
Bai Nuosi blushed, brushing Huo Ranchuan’s wandering hands away. “What are you doing?”
Huo Ranchuan pushed Bai Nuosi down onto the lounge chair, grabbing his hand and moving it down. “You see how it hurts? It could really use some attention.”
Bai Nuosi, torn between hesitation and feeling that he’d delayed things too long, gave in. After all, Huo Ranchuan seemed to be struggling.
But Bai Nuosi quickly realized that Huo Ranchuan was just too… robust for him. As a rather slender Omega, Bai Nuosi felt he had met his match.
Halfway through, Bai Nuosi, now in tears, began begging Huo Ranchuan to stop. “Please… just get out!”
Huo Ranchuan, however, was just as caught. Moving away mid-way was impossible, especially after coming this far.
In the end, Huo Ranchuan carefully lifted Bai Nuosi, still in place, and started walking back to the villa on the beach.
“Hold on!” Bai Nuosi exclaimed, feeling a dull ache in his stomach.
With a sudden shift, Huo Ranchuan’s movements caused things to… settle further.
“Are you okay?” Huo Ranchuan stood there, paralyzed, suddenly unsure of himself.
Neither had any experience, and it certainly hadn’t been intentional. Huo Ranchuan had just wanted to get Bai Nuosi to the soft bed, hoping it’d ease his discomfort. He’d simply overlooked the potential complications.
Bai Nuosi, too exhausted to cry anymore, leaned against Huo Ranchuan, feeling a pressure in his stomach. There was no way he could speak, so he just clung to him, breathing in shallow gasps.
After a long pause, Huo Ranchuan finally took a careful step forward, whispering, “How are you feeling? Does it still hurt?”
Bai Nuosi buried his face against Huo Ranchuan’s chest.
It wasn’t quite pain; more an unfamiliar fullness, combined with Huo Ranchuan’s movements.
After reaching the villa, Huo Ranchuan finally closed the door behind them. They remained inside for three days. While the Teng Snake played in the sea, he couldn’t ignore the strange signals he sensed from Huo Ranchuan. Restless, he began circling the villa.
On the fourth day, noticing Bai Nuosi exhausted, Huo Ranchuan finally suggested a break.
The AI butler prepared a meal and Huo Ranchuan brought it into the bedroom. Bai Nuosi, still asleep, had red cheeks, flushed ears, and swollen eyelids from three days of crying.
Without even mentioning the marks across his neck, chest, and other areas, Huo Ranchuan, sitting on the edge of the bed, looked at him lovingly.
Nestled in Bai Nuosi’s arms, the Teng Snake gently curled around him, careful not to disturb him. But as soon as Bai Nuosi stirred, the Teng Snake scurried away.
Huo Ranchuan lifted Teng Snake with a quiet, “Go play outside and let him rest.”
The Teng Snake looked at Huo Ranchuan with soulful eyes. His main body could mark Teacher Bai, but he couldn’t even cuddle him.
So the Teng Snake went back outside, his head drooping as he muttered to himself about his troublesome twin.
