They’d been dating for almost a month, but with all the recent busyness, Huo Ranchuan was often out early and back late. When he returned, it was often past midnight, and Bai Nuosi was already asleep. He’d wash up and climb into bed, cuddling with Bai Nuosi without noticing anything amiss.

Sitting on the edge of the bed in only his shorts, Huo Ranchuan looked down and sighed.
They’d been dating for a month, cuddling and kissing every night, but the closest they’d come to intimacy was a temporary mark.
Although Bai Nuosi was receptive to a little marking, whenever Huo Ranchuan tried to go further, he’d come up with an excuse and leave.
Maybe a month was still too soon?

One evening, they were watching a romantic movie, which naturally included a few steamy scenes.

Huo Ranchuan narrowed his eyes, and in a swift move, pinned Teacher Bai to the couch.
“Teacher Bai,” he said in a low voice, “are you trying to run away again?”
With Huo Ranchuan so close, the air was filled with his scent, making Bai Nuosi’s face and ears flush red as he stammered, “I really did make milk tea. I’m not trying to run.”
Having recently cut his hair, Bai Nuosi looked up at Huo Ranchuan, who brushed his bangs aside and caressed his face. “Is there something you’re not telling me? Something you’re afraid to say?”
Bai Nuosi turned an even deeper shade of red and mumbled, “No, there’s nothing.”
Huo Ranchuan’s face grew serious. “Really? Xiao Bai, do you not trust me?”
With his head buried in Bai Nuosi’s neck, Huo Ranchuan sighed, “Be honest… do you regret this? Regret being with me?”
There was a hint of sadness in his voice. He couldn’t shake the feeling that Teacher Bai was rejecting him and avoiding intimacy. They’d talked about learning more together, but Bai Nuosi hadn’t agreed. Huo Ranchuan was disheartened. “Is it that you don’t want me to mark you?”
Maybe Bai Nuosi only wanted to date, not commit. Was he planning to eventually return to his home planet and marry an alpha there?
The thought made Huo Ranchuan’s chest ache. But if this was what Teacher Bai wanted, he couldn’t force him to stay.
Bai Nuosi was taken aback, holding Huo Ranchuan’s face, “No, Director, why would you think that? I don’t regret it at all, it’s just…”
He hesitated, struggling to find the words. “It’s just…”
Huo Ranchuan urged him, “Just what?”
Embarrassed, Bai Nuosi blurted, “I read that beastmen’s, um… anatomy… gets influenced by their genetic traits. Like… if someone’s spirit beast is a tiger, there might be barbs…”
Alphas certainly didn’t have that kind of feature!
His face flushed, Bai Nuosi glanced at Huo Ranchuan’s lower half and murmured, “You’re a snake beastman… and the Teng Snake… has two… so you…”
Huo Ranchuan froze.
So that’s why Teacher Bai had been holding back.
Huo Ranchuan sighed. “Don’t worry. I only have one.”
Bai Nuosi let out a relieved breath, clutching his chest in lingering fear. “Thank goodness! That scared me; I’ve been worrying about this for a while now.”
He had looked it up online before and found that some snake-type beastmen could have two, but it was rare. He hadn’t been sure if Huo Ranchuan was one of them.
However, just as Bai Nuosi was finally feeling relieved, he heard Huo Ranchuan add, “But I do have barbs. Hey, are you curious? Want to see?”
With that, Huo Ranchuan casually started unbuttoning his pants.
After dating for over six months, they had certainly done plenty of intimate things together, but they had never quite reached this level of openness.
Bai Nuosi was startled, covering his eyes on instinct. “No, no! That’s really not necessary!”
Oh, help! So there *are* barbs? Somehow, that didn’t feel like much of an improvement over two…
Bai Nuosi was close to tears—how did he not know this sooner?
Huo Ranchuan chuckled as he watched Bai Nuosi. “Why are you so shy? We’re partners; we’ll get here eventually. Or did you want a purely platonic relationship?”
With Teacher Bai being all soft and smelling like sweet pheromones, there was no way Huo Ranchuan could hold back forever.
He took Bai Nuosi’s hand gently. “Then just feel it with your hand, that’s fine too.”
Bai Nuosi froze.
He wanted to pull his hand away, but his curiosity had started to creep in. While he was still hesitating, Huo Ranchuan placed his “armored weapon” in his hand. Bai Nuosi was so flustered that he barely held onto it, even muttering in confusion, “Um? What is th—”
Ten minutes later, Bai Nuosi’s face was completely flushed as he hid under the covers, refusing to come out no matter how many times Huo Ranchuan coaxed him.
Huo Ranchuan coaxed him for ages. “Alright, Xiao Bai, I’m not messing with you anymore. Come on out; it’s too stuffy in there, okay?”
Bai Nuosi peeked his head out from the covers, his face red and hair messy as he looked at Huo Ranchuan. “I’m not ready for this yet… Give me a little time.”
As he said this, his eyes wandered to the thermos on the bedside table, and with a mental jolt, he remembered the recent “weapon inspection” and ducked back under the covers in a flash.
Huo Ranchuan sighed. “Got it, sweetheart, we’ll take it slow. When your hands get used to it, we can move on.”
Not picking up on any hidden meaning, Bai Nuosi nodded.
Later on, he would come to understand exactly what Huo Ranchuan had meant by “when your hands get used to it.”
Huo Ranchuan had indeed meant it literally. He wanted Bai Nuosi to get comfortable with his hands first, and then, as Bai Nuosi’s comfort grew, they could move on to the next stage.
A month later, lying in bed with aching arms, Bai Nuosi couldn’t help but think that his hands had been working overtime lately!
He’d never been this tired—not even after making a hundred steamed buns in a day!
Huo Ranchuan might only have one, but his energy was like having two!
Seven rounds a night was just the beginning; it was hardly enough for him. Bai Nuosi was beginning to wonder if Huo Ranchuan might have originally had two, only somehow fused into one!
