Chapter 92
Wen Yue clicked on the paparazzi’s Weibo post.
The post only featured a single photo. Although the lighting was dim, it was unmistakably taken in the underground parking garage of Tiancheng Phase II.
He recalled they had already sent people to clear out any lurking paparazzi once they realized someone was snooping around the garage. He had no idea how this photographer had managed to avoid being removed.
In the photo, Gu Xingshi’s hands gripped the edge of the car window, his slender neck bent under Wen Yue’s control, forced to tilt downward. His brows were slightly furrowed, a blush spread from his cheeks to his earlobes.
Wen’s Adam’s apple bobbed.
Before meeting Gu, he had scoffed at this sort of thing. But now… he found himself utterly captivated, craving more.
Just then, Tang Ling called. “President Wen, about the photo of you and President Gu circulating on Weibo…”
Wen lowered his gaze. “It’s real.”
“Uh…” Tang had intended to discuss whether they should reach out to the paparazzi to get the photo removed, as it could impact both President Wen’s and President Gu’s image. But hearing Wen’s response, could it be… that they were getting married?
Was the Wen family about to have a happy occasion?
Tang quickly adjusted his tone. “Understood. By the way, the dinner with Mr. Yan and President Gu has just ended. Shall I prepare a car to pick up President Gu?”
Wen said, “Yes. And have a bouquet of flowers ready as well.”
Tang: “Got it.”
Hanging up, Tang rushed off to get everything organized.
After Wen drove away, Tang finally let out a long sigh of relief. After all, his year-end bonus might very well hinge on this single effort.
With this in mind, he called Sun Hongfei.
Oddly, Sun, who was usually the most animated about such matters, sounded unusually calm today. “Isn’t this perfectly normal? Honestly, what surprises me is that it took this long for someone to catch them together.”
Tang Ling: “…”
Sun Hongfei continued, “Relax, Tang. I’ll stake my career on it—there will be good news for President Wen and President Gu by the end of this year, and we’ll both be getting hefty bonuses!”
Tang Ling: “…Well, let’s hope you’re right.”
While the two of them were feeling optimistic, reactions were more varied among the LeShi employees—especially in the small private chat group for Mr. Gu’s fan club.
Cheng ‘Not Your Mom’ Xin: [Guys!!! Wen Yue has gone too far this time!]
Gu’s #1 Devoted-Fan Qin: [+1]
Cheng ‘Not Your Mom’ Xin: [Marriage? Why couldn’t it be him marrying into the family instead?!]
Gu’s #1 Devoted-Fan Qin: [?! Stop spouting nonsense and lay off the fan theories, would you?]
Gu’s #1 Fan Qing: [From the way it looks, maybe he forced President Gu! angry emoji]
Meng Yuansheng (Rational Fan): [Sure, he saved President Gu, but that doesn’t mean he can ignore his feelings!]
Ruan Xiyin (The Rational Fan #2): [Let’s calm down. Isn’t it possible that Mr. Gu actually enjoyed it?]
Everyone: [!!!]
Gu’s #1 Devoted-Fan Qin: [But last time Mr. Gu said he wasn’t dating Wen. Kissing someone you’re not dating—doesn’t that count as harassment?]
Ruan Xiyin (The Rational Fan #2): [You said ‘last time.’ Maybe they’re dating now?]
Gu’s #1 Fan Qing: [I mean…it’s not impossible?]
Meng Yuansheng (Rational Fan): [Could Wen be exploiting his rescue as leverage?]
Cheng ‘Not Your Mom’ Xin: [Little Ruan, you’re still too young. Let me tell you, men are all the same—no good at all!]
The group fell into silence.
In an attempt to vent their anger at Wen Yue, Cheng Xin had managed to insult the entire chat group.
Classic Cheng Xin.
Finally, Ruan Xiyin broke the silence meekly: [Brother Xin, maybe we don’t need to burn down the whole house just to get one pest.]

Meanwhile, Gu Xingshi remained blissfully unaware that his team of artists had already concocted about eight hundred dramatic scenarios concerning him and Wen Yue.
As he came across the viral Weibo post, he was in the middle of discussing strategies with Yan Zhiheng for handling the crisis.
Yan raised an eyebrow, a look of understanding dawning on his face. “So ‘that’s’ why you were gone for so long…”
Gu: “…”
He couldn’t exactly deny it, so he forced himself to stay calm. “Brother Yan, let’s get back to talking about Bian Shicheng…”
Yan chuckled knowingly. “Of course, let’s talk business first.”
Gu sighed, ignoring Yan’s teasing expression, and continued, clearing his throat. “Bian Shicheng ended up with Miss Zhuang Yuan, the Zhuang family’s heiress, rather than a more politically suitable match. She chose him because he seemed loyal and obedient.”
“Zhuang Yuan is deeply focused on her career and wasn’t keen on marriage, but for someone in her political position, having a stable marriage is important. As long as Bian doesn’t cause a major scandal, she’ll keep protecting him to avoid any disruption. So even if we expose Bian’s past actions, it might not hurt him directly—in fact, it might just make him more cautious.”
Yan looked thoughtful. “How did you find out all this?”
Gu had already prepared an answer, but before he could respond, Yan interrupted with a knowing look. “This is Wen Yue’s doing, isn’t it?”
The Wen family, while primarily in business, had no shortage of political connections. To tap into that network would require substantial resources. Clearly, Wen Yue was investing far more in this relationship than Yan had expected.
Gu paused. Well, what was one more “favor” Wen Yue could take credit for?
After Yan’s musings, he nodded for Gu to continue.
Gu explained, “Bian isn’t content to stay under Zhuang Yuan’s control, so he’s been pulling strings to climb higher, engaging in some illegal activities along the way. If we bring those to light, he’ll have no choice but to step down from his current position.”
Yan frowned. “But gathering evidence for such things won’t be easy, will it?”
Gu gave a slight smile. “I have a way.”
Yan’s eyes widened, and his mind instantly filled with a mental image of Gu Jinyu on his deathbed, entrusting Gu with his final wishes, prompting Gu to spend years secretly collecting evidence to avenge him.
He looked at Gu with a new sense of admiration. “Ah, why couldn’t ‘my’ nephew be as capable as you?”
Gu: “…?”
His ‘actual’ nephew, Wen Yue, had just walked in: “…?”
Wen ignored Yan’s strange comment and walked straight to Gu. “Is everything settled?”
The moment Gu saw Wen, memories of their passionate kiss resurfaced, and he averted his gaze, feeling a bit flustered. “Mostly…”
“Then let’s head back.”
Yan interrupted, “Wait a minute—what about ‘me’, your actual uncle?”
Wen replied coolly, “You have a driver, don’t you?”
Yan: “!!”
This nephew is useless! Can’t keep him!
Wen reached down and casually took Gu’s hand, only for Gu to intertwine their fingers, lacing them together as he looked up with a bright smile. “Now that’s more like it.”
Wen felt a surge of heat as he gazed at Gu’s smile, his eyes drifting down to his lips.
“Xingshi, I…”
Gu suddenly stiffened. “Quick, we need to go—there might be paparazzi!”
Wen: “…”
The two quickly made their way to the car, glancing around as they went.
Once inside, Gu exhaled in relief and began fastening his seatbelt, only to be rendered speechless by the massive bouquet of vibrant roses before him.
The car was filled with the sweet fragrance of the flowers.
Peeking over the bouquet, Wen’s face softened as he murmured, “Xingshi, this rumor about us has been going on for a while. How about we make it real?”
Gu’s heart began racing.
He muttered under his breath, “If we don’t, at this rate, I’ll be ‘running away with your child’ by tomorrow.”
Wen: “…”
With the teasing out of his system, Gu’s heart finally slowed to a steady beat. He pressed his lips together, looked up, and gave Wen a soft smile. “Looking forward to it, my brand-new boyfriend.”
Wen’s heart soared and then suddenly burst into fireworks.
Leaning closer, he gently caged Gu against the seat, his gaze tracing from Gu’s smooth forehead, down the bridge of his nose, lingering on his rosy lips. His voice dropped to a husky murmur.
“So… can your brand-new boyfriend kiss you now?”
Gu Xingshi hurriedly said, “But what about the paparazzi…”
“There aren’t any—I checked,” Wen replied.
Seeing that Gu was still concerned, Wen smoothly lifted the bouquet from Gu’s lap, using it as a shield to block them from view.
“No one can see us now…”
His words dissolved as their lips met in a deep, lingering kiss.

Bian Shicheng never could have anticipated that his carefully crafted scheme would unravel so easily.
Not only had it failed, but it had also fueled the flames of the Wen Yue and Gu Xingshi rumor, drawing even more attention to them. Furious, he kicked over a table in rage.
Why did Yan Zhiheng and Gu Xingshi always seem so lucky?
But was it really just luck?
Bian’s naturally suspicious nature only intensified when he thought about the perfect timing of the scandal. It was almost as if someone had anticipated his move.
Years ago, he had wanted to see LeShi Entertainment driven to bankruptcy, to bury the company’s name for good. But Gu Jinyu had left a hidden safeguard in place, liquidating all assets but somehow preserving the company itself. On top of that, Gu had found an heir out of nowhere.
At the time, Bian had sent someone to investigate and found that the so-called heir was just a freshly graduated kid. He hadn’t thought much of it then.
Who could have foreseen that this “kid” would build LeShi into a powerhouse in just a few years? Even more annoyingly, he had managed to entangle himself with the Wen family head.
To make matters worse, Wen Yue was Yan Zhiheng’s nephew.
And now, Yan, who had supposedly retired, was back in the spotlight!
Bian’s mind drifted back to the past when Yan Zhiheng used to take him to various social events. Yan was always warmly received, but Bian, trailing behind, was usually ignored. So long as Yan was present, Bian was invisible.
As expected, Yan’s return had caused a sensation. People who had once been indifferent to Bian were bending over backward to welcome Yan, even organizing a reception banquet in his honor.
And Yan had the audacity to invite ‘him’ to the banquet.
Suspicion gnawed at him. On one hand, he was consumed with jealousy; on the other, he feared his past misdeeds might be exposed and that Yan was back to settle old scores.
If so, perhaps it was best to strike first.
He’d intended to test the waters, to make a cautious move. But the response had been so swift and effortless that his plan had been neutralized in an instant!
A wave of unease washed over him, but he reassured himself: No, there’s no way they know it was me. I covered my tracks carefully.
Even if they did know, what could they possibly do? He now held both power and influence—surely they couldn’t touch him.
Just then, his phone rang. It was one of his trusted associates.
“Brother Bian, we’ve got a huge problem! Those things you had me do…someone leaked it all online!”
Bian Shicheng: “!!!”
